Hypnotism – Practicing Your Rapport Building Skills

Every element of hypnotism is equally important for the final result. However, a lot of people tend to see building rapport as something that they should not focus on greatly. This is definitely a wrong approach.

If you cannot build rapport, all your efforts for influencing the other person are highly likely to fail. Indeed, building rapport is crucial for hypnotism, but it is not easy to achieve. That is why you should focus on practicing.

There are a number of important points to consider first.

It is true that mirroring gestures and facial expressions is the most straightforward form or rapport building, but it can easily turn to mimicry and mocking unless you are careful.

That is why you should always wait for some time before you mirror a gesture or a facial expression. Additionally, do not do it for too long.

Those new to hypnotism will find it easier to mirror the pitch of voice as well as the speed of speaking of the person. Similarly, it is relatively easy to pick up some key words that the person is using and use them yourself.

One of the simplest ways to practice building rapport is to mirror the people on TV. You do not have to worry about the other person reacting to your mirroring, so you can find the right mindset and pace for rapport building.

Once you are more confident, you can start mirroring friends that you are having a casual conversation with. Even if you fail to complete the first stage of hypnotism, you will not feel uncomfortable.

There is a certain way to know that you have established a subconscious connection with the other person. Just make a gesture and see if he mirrors it or not. If he does, then you have succeeded.
